We honor those who have sacrificed their lives for us during this Memorial Day weekend , and we recognize the front line people during this pandemic who are risking their lives for us. But it is also an opportunity for us to celebrate the memory of all who are part of our lives- past, present and future.
Memories are snapshots of our life and times with family , friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Each memory captures our happiness, our hopes, our determination, and our disappointments. Each memory also offers us the ability to reflect on our acts of kindness and the joy we get from sharing and caring for others. If there are memories we regret, they offer us the ability to learn and grow. Each of us is a collage of our personal values and beliefs and our life’s decisions, actions, and purpose. These memories are also the inspiration for our dreams.
Dreams are about our future, and today ‘s uncertainty due to the pandemic make dreaming more challenging but more important than ever. Dreams are our vision and our hope for our lives, the lives of our loved ones and our world, our country, and for me beloved New York City. We can each decide today to take action on our health, our relationships, our work, our hobbies, our sources of enjoyment and our civic engagement. Tomorrow begins today. And we can create a better tomorrow in our dreams and plans .
Our memories and our dreams make this Memorial Day the most important of our lifetime. May you be healthy, hopeful and happy . All the best. Paula
